Waterloo Region criminal matters are heard at the Kitchener courthouse on Frederick Street. Provincial offences from across the region — Kitchener, Waterloo, Cambridge and the townships — are heard at the Waterloo Region POA court on Queen Street North.
Kitchener is the court centre for Waterloo Region. The Conestoga Parkway (Highway 7/8) runs through the city and connects to the 401 south of it, and both corridors carry heavy enforcement from Waterloo Regional Police and OPP. Charges from Kitchener, Waterloo, Cambridge, Woolwich, Wilmot, Wellesley and North Dumfries all resolve here.
The region runs one Provincial Offences court, at 77 Queen Street North, and one criminal court, at 85 Frederick Street. Both are in Kitchener and neither is far from the other, but they are separate buildings with separate processes — a distracted driving charge and a criminal harassment charge do not share a courtroom or a prosecutor. Check which court your notice names.
