Welland criminal matters are heard at the Welland Courthouse on East Main Street. Provincial offences from all twelve Niagara municipalities are heard at the Niagara Region POA court, further along the same street.
Welland sits on the Highway 406 corridor between the QEW and Port Colborne, in the middle of south Niagara. Niagara Regional Police enforces the city and the surrounding municipalities; OPP Niagara covers the 406 and the QEW. Welland is also the south Niagara criminal court, which means files from Port Colborne, Fort Erie and the surrounding townships come here rather than to St. Catharines.
Niagara runs a single Provincial Offences courthouse for the whole region, at 445 East Main Street in Welland.
